Swansea Cats & Kittens

Welcome to

Swansea Cats and Kittens

What we do

Swansea Cats and Kittens was set up in November 2023 by a group of volunteers who are passionate about helping the cats and kittens in the Swansea and surrounding areas.

Swansea Cats and Kittens is a completely volunteer‑run charity, with no paid staff. Every pound raised goes directly towards caring for the cats and kittens who need help across the Swansea area. Our volunteers bring years of experience and a shared passion for giving vulnerable animals the best possible chance, even as we work within limited funds and foster space.

We focus our resources on the cats and kittens who need us most. When an animal comes into our care they receive:

  • A full veterinary health check

  • Flea and worm treatment

  • Vaccinations

  • Microchipping

  • Neutering, when appropriate

Once they’re healthy and ready, we work to match them with loving, permanent homes.

Supporting Feral and Community Cats

Alongside rehoming domestic cats, we are committed to helping feral colonies and community cats. Our trained volunteers carry out Trap–Neuter–Return (TNR) across the area. After being vet‑checked, neutered, and treated for parasites, these cats are returned to the place they know best. Where needed, we also provide ongoing food and shelter to help them thrive safely in their environment.

Cat homing day

Sunday 4th October - Swansea Cat Clinic 11am-3pm

Come along and meet your new best friend. Our Homing Day is a great opportunity to meet a wide range of rescue cats and kittens who are ready to find their forever homes.
We are still homing as usual in the run‑up to the event. You do not need to wait until the Homing Day to adopt a cat or kitten. As cats leave for their new homes over the coming weeks, we will continue to “restock the shelves” and bring more vulnerable cats into our care.
You can request a Home Visit before the Homing Day, so that you are ready to adopt on the day and you will be first in line when your perfect feline friend chooses you.
Please note that we cannot reserve a specific cat before the day, but you are very welcome to adopt before the event as normal.
Important: We do not home cats or kittens to properties where they would have access to what we believe is a busy road.
If you rent your home we will need written permission from your landlord.
We do not currently have any indoor cats or kittens

Meet our cats

Adoption is a lifelong promise of love and care — open your heart and give a homeless pet a forever home.

Fosterers wanted

Could you foster a mum and kittens, a pregnant cat, a litter of kittens, or a single cat while they wait for their new home?

Fostering is one of the most impactful ways you can help. You will be supporting vulnerable cats and kittens at a time when they are often at the lowest point in their lives. Many need love, patience, interaction and, in some cases, medical support to help them recover and feel safe again. To foster, you will need:• Reliability and commitment• A separate room for the cat (or no cats of your own)• Transport for vet appointments• Plenty of love, patience and TLC — many cats arrive traumatised, overwhelmed or confused
We provide everything: - Food • Litter • Beds • Toys • All medical costs (vaccinations, neutering, microchipping, parasite treatment, vet care)
We always do our best to match the right foster family with the right cat. Every situation is different - some cats need quiet and calm, others need confidence-building, and mums with kittens need a safe, secure space. Your home, lifestyle and experience help us make the best match for both you and the cat.
Please don’t be offended if we don’t contact you immediately after you apply. We may not have a cat that fits your profile at that moment, but we will be in touch as soon as the right opportunity arises.
Fostering isn’t always easy - it can be emotional and hard work but it is always rewarding. You will be helping a cat or kitten get back on its paws and go on to live its best life.
